Our mission is to encourage the understanding of international affairs and develop a greater appreciation and acceptance of other people’s opinions, cultures, beliefs and attitudes. From leadership skills to team work, we aim to empower the youth for the future.
AT UETMUN we provide a platform for active simulation of thought-provoking debates that promote knowledge of international affairs, research, parliamentary procedures, analytical reasoning, complex problem solving and negotiations. Our vision is a future where the youth can chalk from its own past experiences to participate in the decision-making process at both national and international level.
UETMUN is one of the most prestigious societies of UET which primarily calls for all the national diplomats to engage in meaningful committees that result in development of a favorable resolution. We set different cultural trends and provide platforms in which delegates can participate where they can showcase their skills and excel at debate. UETMUN encourages people especially our enthusiastic diplomats to engage in social links. Working for their well-being and aiding them to make a better version of themselves is our sole purpose.
UETMUN returns with the third edition of maximal and integrated debate to discuss circulating affairs of global importance. With a commoving environment of diplomacy and exhilarating socials, University of Engineering and Technology is the pioneer among Public Sector Universities to arrange a Model United Nations Conference, making a mark in the MUN Circuit in a very short time. UETMUN invites you to be a part of the difference we ought to make, a legacy we want to set and the DEMOCRATIA REGNAS we want to manifest.
As I begin to reminisce the early days of UETMUN Society, I vividly recall five to six confused faces gathering at one of the university’s lawns to discuss the idea of forming an official MUN Society at UET. Followed by that idea was a bumpy ride full of ups and downs which I like to call as, “My favorite mistake” during the four undergrad years at UET. Proudly, this endeavor went on to generate unimagined success and made its mark in the national MUN circuit within a short span of three years. From winning 30+ awards at coveted venues to arranging the first ever national-level MUN conference in the history of the institution, UETMUN society and its members are just starting up. I have no doubt about the hard-work and persistency of UETMUN’s members and executives towards maintaining a high caliber and true definition of Model UN debates at UET. For the current torchbearers of UETMUN Society, I wish all the success and glory in achieving personal as well as collaborative success and always remember that, “The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”Umair Riaz | Founder UETMUN
Umair Ajmal | President UETMUN
"Mr. Umair has been part of UETMUN for 3 years now, although he had no prior knowledge regarding Model United Nations when he joined UETMUN, he has made his mark due to his hard work. From heading the logistics team to being President of the most progressive Society of UET, it has been a great journey – not an easy one though. Coming from a family belonging to a rural area, he has come a long way in his academia and his extra-curricular – most importantly to lead UETMUN with his ambitions of raising awareness for global issues. He believes that MUN improves a person in such a way that it becomes noticeable in their personality. According to him, it teaches you that life is not just about one person, in reality it is much bigger than that. One has to step in to know that it is a completely new world where you practice tolerance, difference of opinion and freedom of expression while disagreeing, in a very professional manner. In his last year, he has set sights to organize an exuberant, enthusiastic and energetic conference, which will raise the third edition of UETMUN to a completely new level. He looks forward to an overwhelming participation of delegates. He believes that it is the delegates who make the conference a competitive one. So be there with some solid research to have the time of your life. "
Hadia Nadeem | Vice President UETMUN
"Hadia Nadeem, presently serving as the Vice-President of UET Model United Nations Society for the session 2018-2019 is a final year student pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. The all-rounder, keen and shrewd is always ready to deal with any vexed situation on the go. Her fervent conversations, a creative and out-of-box perspective on the matter at hand is what makes her a person you can count on in any situation. Her great oratory skills complement her confident personality. She isn’t the girl who tries to squeeze herself into the glass slipper rather she believes in shattering that glass slipper - which is a representative of stereotypes – to create her own path. Her ideas are like the waves of an ocean ready to achieve beyond what the vision can reach. She became a part of UEMTUN society three years back and quickly realized that UETMUN is the only platform that can prove to be the stepping stone of her aspiration to inspire herself and the people around her. She is pleased to welcome you all to the most-awaited event of the year; the Third Edition of UET Model United Nations! From intense debates, nail-biting committee sessions to exhilarating social events, UETMUN has it all. What seemed like an unachievable and overambitious goal a few years back, has been brought to reality and is going to bigger and better only. So, delegates! Prepare your weapons for the battle of the year because winter is coming and so is UETMUN! "
Mussawir Abrar | Secretary General UETMUN
"Mussawir Abrar is the current Secretary General of UETMUN Society, studying in the junior year of his Civil Engineering Program. He is the first person in the history of UET to have been appointed as the Secretary General in his junior year. Having a diverse cultural background, i.e. from Sindh & Punjab, Mussawir has diverse tastes. Apart from being a published author, he has been involved in Performing Arts, Poetry & Public Speaking. He is also a passionate filmmaker. He tries to observe things from rather unorthodox perspectives. He believes in the power of will and the power of fusion of Science & Art. He is a very social person, always active around the campus and managing things. Mussawir has been involved in the MUN circuit for past 4 years. The energy that is produced during an MUN conference in a committee with a topic rolling down bit by bit and everyone disagreeing and correcting each other passionately, is what has attracted him to MUNs. He believes that the MUN format is rather something different, and that it will be much more dominant to the conventional debate format in the coming years. It demystifies how the fate of countries is decided behind closed doors at the sessions of United Nations. Mussawir invites you to the third edition of UET Model United Nations. He, along with his secretariat, is busy in the preparations of the conference to make it 3 most enjoyably unforgettable days of your debating career. He believes that the delegates will come with great enthusiasm and will double-up the fun of conference with their amazing research and with the passion of a first-timer. "
Murtaza Arhsad | General Secretary UETMUN
"Murtaza Arhsad is our acting General Secretary and one of the most senior members of UETMUN Society. He is thrilled to welcome all of you to the pioneer of public sector Model United Conferences in Pakistan, “UETMUN”. His alma mater is GCU and currently, he is pursuing Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree at UET, Lahore. Since his college life, he has been passionate about public speaking. He feels that MUNs have helped him in excelling in his professional life, whether he was working as a counselor, a researcher or an engineer. But that’s the boring part about him, being a ‘serioholic’ and a complete geek, he specially enjoys special committees such as Game of Thrones, Marvel and Harry Potter. He started his MUN career accomplishing “Outstanding Diplomacy Award” in Game of Thrones committee, representing Jon Snow. Just like Jon Snow grew from steward of Night’s Watch to its Lord Commander, Murtaza has earned his way from serving as a volunteer in UET’s first Mun to leading as General Secretary in its 3rd edition, which he likes to call “UETMUN The Third”. Murtaza thinks that UETMUN Society is one of very few societies in Pakistan which are dedicated to bring MUNs in the public space, providing an opportunity for students of Government Sector Institutes to benefit from the art of debate and diplomacy. He believes that UETMUN provides a platform to learn about accepting differences, building diplomacy skills, practicing formal writing and most importantly, doing constructive debate. According to him, these days MUNs are being overshadowed by euphoric and enthralling socials, which are diverting people from the true purpose of MUN. He is determined to keep the true spirit of MUN alive in UETMUN III. He and his team are working very hard to bring cultural diversity and gender equality to the third edition of UET’s Model United Nations conference. Murtaza promises to make his last MUN at UET an experience to remember for the host team, the honorable chairs and above all, the delegates. So Welcome! "
Awais Akbar | Treasurer UETMUN
"Awais Akbar is currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering at UET Lahore. As treasurer of UETMUN society, he handles the financial affairs of the society. He is as good with numbers as he is with speaking. Awais developed a knack for public speaking in O'levels and has been participating in debating competitions ever since. It was only when he came to UET that he involved himself in the MUN sector and has been a member of UETMUN society for 2 years. Having participated in as many as 4 MUNs, he firmly believes that this platform allows an individual to transcend their bounds not only in speaking but in critical thinking, but it also helps you acquire a profound knowledge of global affairs. With sheer thrill and joy, he welcomes you all to one of the most prestigious MUNs of this country. Before he bids farewell to UETMUN, he hopes to provide the delegates a stage to manifest their diligence and oratorical prowess and make his final MUN conference the best he has ever been a part of. "

Huzaifah Himaal has always believed in being the change one wants to see. And if in process one finds their palms sweating and heart racing, remember that it is this very step that must be taken to unlock the true potential that lies within. In the light of that, he invites you to three days of exhilarating, adrenaline filled and unforgettable days that will not only provide the road to experience diplomacy at it's finest along with other brilliant minds , but also provide a life turning chance to rediscover oneself. The exposure towards the national and international matters will be second to none, and the sense of accomplishment on addressing them is just the beginning. Is it going to be better this year? Yes.
